Head Coach - Jack Collis

Welcome parents and athletes to Bloomington Nordic. I look forward to working with you this year, please email me if you have any questions or concerns regarding the ski team. I have taught in the Bloomington district now for 16 years at both Jefferson and Kennedy High School for six years and presently at Ridgeview Elementary. I have been Head Coach for the Nordic Ski Team now for 16 years. I am a native of Detroit, Michigan and graduated from the University of Michigan School of Art and Architecture. I keep busy raising two boys Ian (senior at Iowa State) and Ethan (12th grade) and driving my wife of 30 years, Beth, crazy during the ski season. Besides skiing I enjoy road and mountain biking, rock climbing, gardening and a few quiet moments reading.

Assistant Coach - Mike Johnson

I’ve been with Bloomington Nordic since the 2015/2016 season, and I’m thoroughly enjoying working with the student-athletes here. While growing up in Bemidji, I started skiing at the age of nine as part of a weekend family activity even after I had already well-established my winter sport roots in hockey. By the time I was 13 though, I shifted my focus to skiing and participated on the junior high/high school teams, and I competed in the Junior National qualifiers on the side as well. I attended Middlebury College in Vermont where I also continued ski racing. Along with skiing, I also enjoy golfing, biking, volunteering with the Minnesota Golf Association, and dabbling in gourmet cooking.
